What does gratitude have to do with marketing? #marketingtips #smallbusinessmarketing #gratitude

Your Marketing Might Be Missing This One Thing....
Everything I Learned About Marketing I Learned from a Fortune Cookie

Today's fortune cookie said:

"Follow the path of gratitude and blessings will follow."

At first ...
glance, that sounds like a life lesson.

But I think it's also a marketing lesson.

As small business owners, we often jump into marketing with big expectations. We launch a Facebook page, start posting on Instagram, try TikTok, or experiment with a new marketing tool and hope results happen quickly.

When they don't, it's easy to get discouraged.

What I've found is that the mindset you bring into your marketing matters more than most people realize.

When you approach your business, your customers, and your content with gratitude, it changes how you communicate. It changes the way people experience your brand. It changes the level of trust you build.

And trust is one of the most valuable things you can create in marketing.

In this video, I share my thoughts on:

✔ Why gratitude impacts your marketing more than you think
✔ Building trust with potential customers
✔ Managing expectations in social media marketing
✔ Creating authentic content that connects with people
✔ Why mindset matters for small business growth
✔ Marketing lessons from a fortune cookie

If you're a small business owner trying to grow your business through social media, content marketing, email marketing, or local marketing, this episode is for you.

Sometimes the most effective marketing strategy starts with how you think about your customers and the value you bring to them.

I'd love to hear from you:
What's one thing you're grateful for in your business right now?

Why Your Marketing Feels Scattered (And How to Get Clear Again)
Welcome to another episode of Everything I Learned About Marketing I ...
Welcome to another episode of Everything I Learned About Marketing I Learned from a Fortune Cookie with Mary Anne Cipressy from What’s Up SWFL and Teach Me Social.

In this video, ...
I crack open a fortune cookie that says:

“Today you will be the bearer of good surprises.”

So here’s my surprise for you:

If your marketing feels confusing, inconsistent, or overwhelming right now, it probably is not because you are incapable of marketing your business.

You are likely trying to make decisions in the middle of too much noise.

Everywhere you turn, someone is telling you to:

Start a TikTok
Run Facebook ads
Post more reels
Use AI for everything
Focus on SEO
Start email marketing
Be on every platform

And honestly, that can make business owners feel like they are constantly behind.

The problem is not a lack of tactics.

The problem is trying to use tactics before getting clear on:

Who you help
What problem you solve
What makes your business different
Which platforms actually fit your audience
What you want your marketing to accomplish

Once your message gets clearer, it becomes easier to decide what deserves your time and what does not.

Because once your message is clear, your marketing decisions become easier. You stop chasing every new trend and start building marketing that actually fits your business.

In this video, I also talk about:
✔ Choosing marketing platforms intentionally
✔ Using AI tools without losing your voice
✔ Why small business owners should start simple
✔ Building momentum before trying to do everything
✔ Creating messaging that connects with real people

If you are trying to do your own marketing, start smaller than you think you need to. Get good at communicating your message clearly before piling on more tactics.

That is usually where growth starts.

I also mention my free Clarity Session in this video. It is simply a conversation where we walk through your business, your message, and where your marketing may be getting stuck.

Welcome to another episode of Everything I Learned About Marketing I Learned from a Fortune ...
Cookie with Mary Anne Cipressy from What’s Up SWFL and Teach Me Social.

In this episode, I crack open a fortune cookie that says:

“You will live a healthy life.”

And while that’s great personally… it also sparked an important conversation about the health of your marketing.

Because let’s be honest…

A lot of small business owners are trying to do their own marketing right now and it can feel overwhelming:

TikTok
Instagram
Facebook
Reels
Email marketing
AI tools
Endless marketing advice

But here’s the truth:

You can try every marketing tactic out there…
…but if your messaging and strategy aren’t clear, your marketing will still feel scattered.

In this video, I talk about:
✔ What “healthy marketing” actually looks like
✔ Why random tactics don’t create consistent results
✔ The importance of clear messaging and strategy
✔ Why business owners struggle with marketing overwhelm
✔ How clarity improves your marketing results
✔ Why knowing your audience changes everything

Healthy marketing isn’t about chasing every new trend.

It’s about:
• Being clear on who you help
• Being clear on what problem you solve
• Being clear on your message
• Having a strategy that supports your business goals

That’s when marketing starts producing healthier results — including more clients, more connection, and more consistency.

If you’re a small business owner, entrepreneur, or solopreneur trying to figure out your own marketing, this video is for you.

Welcome to another episode of Everything I Learned About Marketing I Learned from a Fortune Cookie.

In this video, I open a fortune that ...
says:
“March will bring you unexpected surprises.”

And while that might sound like a prediction… it’s actually a powerful marketing lesson.

Because here’s what I see happening right now with so many small business owners trying to do their own marketing:

It feels noisy.
It feels overwhelming.
And it’s hard to know what to do next.

New platforms.
New tactics.
AI tools.
Endless advice.

But here’s the truth…

The problem usually isn’t the tactic.
The problem is a lack of clarity.

In this video, we break down:
✔ Why marketing feels confusing and scattered
✔ The biggest mistake small business owners make when doing their own marketing
✔ Why tactics won’t work without clarity
✔ How to identify your target audience
✔ How to define the problem you solve
✔ How to create messaging that actually connects
✔ Why clear goals matter more than more content

When you get clear on:
• Who you’re trying to reach
• What problem you’re solving
• How you serve your audience
• What your marketing is supposed to achieve

Everything starts to change.

That’s where the “unexpected surprises” come in.

Because when your marketing is clear, your results improve — often in ways you didn’t expect.

If you’re a small business owner, entrepreneur, or solopreneur trying to figure out your marketing, this video will help you simplify your strategy and get focused.

I offer a free 15-minute Clarity Session where I walk you through the process and help you identify exactly where to focus next.

Everything I Learned About Marketing I Learned from a Fortune Cookie | Passion in Marketing

Welcome to another episode of Everything I Learned About Marketing I Learned from a Fortune Cookie.

In ...
this episode, I open a fortune that says:
“Chase your dreams with a heart full of passion.”

And honestly… this might be one of the most important marketing lessons there is.

Because here’s the truth:
People don’t just buy products or services.
They connect with passion, authenticity, and purpose.

You can feel it when a business owner truly believes in what they do…
And you can definitely feel it when they don’t.

In this video, we talk about:
✔ Why passion is the foundation of effective marketing
✔ The difference between selling a service vs sharing your purpose
✔ Why “finding your why” isn’t always enough
✔ How authenticity attracts the right customers
✔ How to connect emotionally with your audience through your marketing

Most business owners focus on what they sell.
But real connection happens when you communicate why it matters on a deeper level.

👉 It’s not just your product.
👉 It’s not just your service.
👉 It’s what you truly provide and the impact behind it.

Try this exercise:
Instead of writing your “why,” dig deeper.

Ask yourself:
What do I really care about when it comes to my customers?
What change am I trying to create?
What problem do I feel passionate about solving?

Then start bringing that energy into your marketing.

Because when your marketing is fueled by real passion, people feel it — and that’s what draws them in.

How to identify what truly makes your business different

A simple question that can instantly improve your messaging

How to create marketing that actually connects and converts

Most businesses focus on their products or services…
But your audience connects with something deeper.

The real magic happens when you understand:
What problem you solve and how you uniquely solve it.

Your content becomes clearer

Your audience resonates more

Your marketing starts working FOR you

Watch now and rethink your marketing strategy—no luck required.

Welcome to another episode of “Everything I Learned About Marketing I Learned From a Fortune Cookie.”

In this episode, I crack open a fortune cookie that says:

“Your inner strength will shine ...
in September.”

But when it comes to marketing, you don’t have to wait until September to use your inner strength.

One of the biggest challenges I see with business owners and entrepreneurs is shiny object syndrome in marketing. Every day there’s a new platform, a new trend, or a new tactic someone says you have to be doing:

• “You should be on TikTok.”
• “Why aren’t you posting on Instagram?”
• “You need to be doing email marketing.”
• “Facebook isn’t enough anymore.”

The truth is, these are all marketing tactics.

Without clarity on your business goals, target audience, and marketing strategy, chasing every new tactic can pull your marketing off track and off brand.

In this video we talk about:

✔ Why shiny object syndrome hurts your marketing
✔ The difference between marketing strategy vs marketing tactics
✔ Why clarity is the foundation of successful marketing
✔ How business owners can stay focused instead of chasing trends
✔ Simple steps to refocus your marketing strategy

If your marketing feels scattered or overwhelming, this message will help you step back, gain clarity, and build a marketing strategy that actually supports your business goals.

You don’t need every tactic.
You need clarity, focus, and a plan.

In this video I am tackling a BIG question:

What’s the difference between a marketing plan, a marketing strategy, and marketing tactics?

If you’ve been posting on social media, trying SEO, or ...
experimenting with email marketing — but not getting the results you want — the problem might be that you’re jumping straight to tactics without a plan or strategy.

In this video, you’ll learn:

What a marketing plan really is (your roadmap and goals)

How to build a strategy (your “what” and “why”)

Where tactics fit in (your “how”)

Why using tactics alone keeps you stuck spinning your wheels

How to align your marketing efforts so they actually get results

Without a plan, you’re just rowing in circles. With a plan and strategy, every tactic has direction and purpose — and that’s how you reach your goals.
